Congratulations to the Bloomfield Township Firefighter’s hockey team for a first place, “yellow division,” finish in the Detroit Firefighters hockey tournament. The road to the championship was not easy with close competitive wins over Trenton fire, Livonia fire, Pontiac fire, and St. Claire Shores fire. The tournament took place at the Troy Ice Arena on March 25th & 26th with the proceeds benefitting the Children’s Rainbow Foundation. |

Another Successful Plunge |
|
Sunday, 29 March 2009 15:35 |
The Don Jiles Firefighters Fund wants to thank everyone who participated and donated to the 2009 Polarbear Plunge. Although there was no ice or snow the effects of the cold water were the same. The water was a cool 40°, the rain held off and the tiki bar was open making it a perfect afternoon. Our second annual plunge far surpassed what was achieved the first year by almost doubleling the money raised. This was made possible with the efforts of the participants to obtain pledges. Our top pledge getter for the second year in a row was Chris and Jerri Whitehead raising $629. The event raised $5500 with more donations coming in via on-line donations. - Pictures and videos of the event will be posted as soon as possible - Thank you. The Don Jiles Firefighers Fund |
